Practicing the Seventh Principle on the Eastern Shore of Virginia

The Unitarian Universalist Seventh Principle calls us to have respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part. At this service, we will reflect on the Seventh Principle as it comes alive on Virginia’s Eastern Shore—a place where land and water meet, where migratory birds, barrier islands, farms, fisheries, and human communities are bound together in delicate relationship. Here, honoring the interdependent web is not an abstract idea, but a daily practice of stewardship, neighborliness, conservation, and reverence for the natural systems that sustain life. From tending soil and protecting waterways to recognizing our dependence on one another in a small coastal community, the Seventh Principle invites us to live with humility, gratitude, and responsibility in a place where interconnectedness is visible everywhere.

Our house band, Route 13, will inspire us with their musical selections.
